ANNIVERSARY

12 August - 04 September 2022

Dear guests,

We celebrated the 100th anniversary of our chapel at the castle, which was inaugurated in 1922. From 12 August to 04 September 22 we had 4 celebration weekends! There was something for children, young people and adults. During the day there were various catering options. In the evenings there was a bar. We were delighted with the many guests!

You are also welcome to visit us after our party. Here you will find information about us as a church.

Your Viva Kirche Liestal

P.S.: Until 04 Sept. 22 we were called Chrischona-Gemeinde Liestal

Timber construction world

Build, build, build

12-14 August

Together, we immersed ourselves in 80,000 wooden blocks of the HolzBauWelt and built metre-high towers, houses, a stadium, a scorpion, etc. There were no limits to the imagination! Creative, unique buildings and works of art were erected through playful teamwork. During the building breaks, exciting stories with building experiences from the Bible were told. Naturally, this varied programme was accompanied by a delicious snack and lunch.

On the final Sunday, the buildings could be admired at a vernissage. One of the highlights was the collapse of the buildings, which was particularly celebrated in the case of the tower, which was over 5 metres high.

BURG CUP 2022

Töggeli tournament

Sat 20 August

The Töggeli tournament for young and old is unfortunately already over. It was great!

The game was played in teams of two in two categories: Age groups or mixed (child / adult). Some started the tournament in a playful and relaxed manner, others were highly focussed. The atmosphere was great. Two challenge cups were awarded after the finals.

Next year we will be back at the start with the Burg Cup! The exact date is still to be determined.

Family service

with SandART

Sunday, 21 August 2022.

In this family service, Frank Bigler led us through the life of Jesus Christ with pictures of sand. Frank Bigler drew his birth, the wise men from the East and Jesus' life and death in the colourfully backlit sand. Of course, Jesus' resurrection was not to be missed. The whole event was accompanied by texts based on the Gospels of the New Testament and songs.

Concert

vooi's choir

Fri 26 August 2022

It was a premiere: the vooi's choir with singers from Liestal and the surrounding area gave a full-length concert! Anna Gosteli, the director and conductor, got everything out of the individual voices. I was particularly impressed by the song that was rehearsed for hours especially for this evening - chicken skin!

It was a very successful evening with a great atmosphere for the choir and everyone in the audience. Afterwards, we rounded off the evening with meetings and conversations, snacks, coffee, cola or Cüpli.

Since August 2018, the vooi's choir has been rehearsing pop songs from the last 70 years of music history arranged by Anna Gosteli on a weekly basis. The gems suggested by the singers include more recent hits by Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish, for example, but Björk, the Beatles and Radiohead are also part of the repertoire.Every Wednesday, the vooi's members and their leader start the rest of the week with new energy thanks to their passion for the beautiful a capella sounds and the joy of working on the pieces together. If you would like to know more or would like to try out the choir, please contact the choir director: anna.f.gosteli@gmail.com

Candle making

Sat 27 August - as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations

It was a wonderful experience, candle making for children and adults in warmer temperatures and sunshine. The next candle making event is sure to come! We are planning to organise another one in the last weekend of October. On our Community homepage we will inform you about this.

Worship Night

Sat 27 August 2022

Worshiping God, honouring HIM and meeting HIM - that's what the Worship Night was all about.

Church service with Zoë Bee

Sun 28 August

Zoë Bee gave an impressive account of her life: 28 moves, three marriages, her immersion in esotericism and finally her path to Jesus Christ. Another topic was the similarities and differences between esotericism and the Christian faith. After the service, Zoë Bee was available for discussions and signed her books.

Here you can listen to the MP3 of Talk and Input by Zoë Bee.

THE festival weekend

From 02-04 September we had THE festival weekend as the highlight!

With Festivities and many activities for young and old as well as various
Catering stands.

Theatre/Comedy

Drama Ltd.

Fri 02 September

Beat Müller and Peter Wild present their second gospel comedy theatre show following the success of "FischAugä". Their humorous and thought-provoking portrayal of the story of Jesus Christ opened up completely new perspectives for those who know and those who do not yet know the events of that time. Beat Müller (Levi/Matthew) and Peter Wild (Thomas) portrayed two of Jesus' disciples, with their feelings and thoughts, just as we often do - but don't always admit it to ourselves. Exciting!

Ponycycle

Sat 03 September and Sun 04 September

Fun for children and adults. There are ponies for small, medium and large people - up to 120 kg body weight!

Human Soccer

Sat 03 September and Sun 04 September

Fun and team spirit are the top priorities at Human Soccer.

Human soccer, also known as live foosball, human foosball or human table soccer, is an improvement on conventional table soccer in which the participants take on the role of the foosball players. The match is played in a field surrounded by an inflatable frame and two goals. The players therefore have a limited radius of movement. Football skills are therefore not the centre of attention and are not a must in order to be successful. Fun and team spirit are the top priorities in human soccer.

Bouncy castle

Sat 03 September and Sun 04 September

The great thing about bouncy castles is that, unlike a merry-go-round or other equipment, they can be operated and set up by the children themselves. Children have great fun bouncing and romping around. Playing in a bouncy castle has several advantages for children. If they slip, their fall is cushioned by the air cushions and they don't hit the ground too hard. This gives children a great opportunity to really let off steam without the high risk of injury. The little ones often have hours of fun bouncing and can really let off steam, improving their fitness and motor skills in a playful way.Source: https://www.spielzeug.org/huepfburg/

Magic show

Magic Dean

Sat 03 September

Magic Dean, the Swiss magician and mentalist with charm and class, has delighted children and adults alike with his "magic tricks".

How does he do that?

Concert

The Revatos

Sat 03 September

"Music across the border" is both a statement and a musical programme for "the Revatos". They uncover the musical roots in the border region between the USA and Mexico and present their incredible diversity.

Revatos took us on a thrilling musical journey for almost 3 hours.

Festive service

"New - God makes new!"
Sun 04 September

With children's programme and lunch afterwards
